Guide for customers with disabilities
We aim to be as inclusive and as welcoming as possible to people with disabilities.
Physical Access
DECADANCE is housed in a previously disused pub. Unfortunately the age and size of the building creates presents many challenges when it comes to accessibliity. The club is on three floors and there are also steps within those floors, as a result the club is not accessible to people that need to remain in wheelchairs or who are unable to climb stairs.
Ground floor
This has our entrance, bar, dancefloor, pool table, jacuzzi, seating areas and toilets.
The entrance is level, however once inside the club there is a single step down to the bar area.
There is an emergency exit from the bar area, which involves decending a single small step once outside.
There are no steps to access the toilets. Toilets are smallish cubicles.
The pool table is on a raised platform, with a single step up to it. The jacuzzi is up a further step. The jacuzzi is similar to a domestic bath in that you have to step over the side to access.
First Floor
The first floor has our playrooms, glory holes, sex swing, sauna, showers, a small social area and outdoor balcony where smoking is permitted.
Access to the the first floor is via a steep staircase. The staircase is straight with a flat landing where the staicase doubles back with further straight steps. There is a further step up from the first floor for those accessing the outdoor balcony.
Playroom access is level with the beds being approximately 50cm off the floor. The sex swing is situated above one of the beds. The sauna has a slight step.on entering, as does the showers.
Basement
The basement has our changing rooms, a shower and the dungeon.
Access down to the basement is via a VERY STEEP, CURVED staircase, step heights vary with some being quite large. On basement level, there is a further step up into the shower tray.
Please note we can make reasonable adjustments for those who are able to normally use stairs but are unable to, or find it difficult to use the steep stairs down to the basement. These can include storing clothes behind the bar, for those who cannot access lockers, and allowing use of an upstairs playroom for changing. Please speak to staff who will be happy to help
We understand people have other conditions that are not physical including visual and hearing impairments and neurodiversity.
We want to make the club as accessible and enjoyable as possible to as many people as possible. We know that everyone's needs are different and we treat everyone so we would ask you to contact us at least 48 hours in advance of your visit, if there is anything you feel may be a barrier stopping you coming to the club or if there is anything we can do to better accomodate you using the form below.
